Call for Interest on: Small HydroPower Technology
The present Call for Expressions of Interest aims at collecting information from potential students to evaluate to what extent they would be interested in attending a specialisation on Small Hydro Power (SHP). SHP has become more and more an interdisciplinary task due to the wide demands coming from the technical, social and environmental side; remembering the last three or four decades the engineering works in the field of SHP have changed significantly due to a very fast progress in these areas and therefore the need for certain specialists has changed accordingly. A multidisciplinary qualification of a SHP designer is necessary. Training SHP specialists means to ensure the uptake of R&D results to the market and to supply specific industry needs.A course on Small HydroPower Technology would include topics such as: Hydrological Data; Hydraulic structures; Electromechanical Equipment; Environmental Impact and its Mitigation; Estimation of Plant Capacity and Energy Output; Economic Analysis; Planning Principles and Engineering Processes; Survey of the EU Current Internal Market
